Topics

Emerging topics and basic research findings across all sectors of geographic information science. The conference attracts leading GIScience researchers from all fields to reflect the interdisciplinary breadth of GIScience, including cognitive science, computer science, engineering, geography, information science, mathematics, philosophy, psychology, social science, and statistics.

Since GIScience focuses on advances in the fundamentals of Geographic Information Science, submission of GIS application papers is discouraged.

Workshops

GIScience 2006 Workshops on September 20 are a complementary forum to the main conference, encouraging the presentation and discussion of work in progress and facilitating a dialogue on emerging topics in small groups.
